[chapter 5] + The Village +

Asthralle, is a small and peaceful village along the foot of the mountains of Wescolfe. The people lived alongside one another and it was impossible for them not to know each one. With only a population of 500 or less, everyone’s faces, names and backgrounds were well known. Asthralle is so far from civilization that it was rare for to them to have tourists and guests from beyond the village itself. In fact, the last time Asthralle ever entertained guests were some 70 years ago where a group of mountain travelers lost their way.

A huge bell tower proudly stood in the edge of Asthralle. This was their way of calling attention to the whole village for celebrations, gatherings and possibly troubles that will come the village’s way. In Asthralle’s heart, stood a huge fountain. Everyone took the initiative to keep this fountain clean due to the fact that the residents thought that this was what kept the village clean and pure. Children were welcomed to play around, elders were welcomed to sit and enjoy the afternoons, and lovers were welcomed for courtships. This fountain has witnessed a lot of the villagers’ history and everyday lives.

It was an almost perfect village. Almost.
